Dr. Lee Myung-sik graduated Department of Architectural Engineering from Korea University Graduate School of Engineering, Republic of Korea. He is CEO of WOSEM Co., LTD, a company specialized in the field of biosafety since 1999.

In 2000, he participated in the establishment of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety's biosafety level 3 research facility, the first BL3 facility in Korea. Since then, he joined in establishment of BL3 facilities of local governments nationwide. In 2007, he joined the Official Development Assistance (ODA) project of constructing biosafety facilities in Mongolia, awarded of Commendation from the Minister of Food and Agriculture of Mongolia in 2008. In 2010, He was awarded of the commendation of the Minister of Health and Welfare of the Republic of Korea for his contribution in regional base inspection center construction. In 2018, he was awarded of the commendation from the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, for his performance in ODA project at Vietnam. In 2020, He was awarded of Presidential award at the Korea Safety Technology Awards.

Dr. Lee Myung-sik served as vice president of Korean Biological Safety Association since 2017, and he has been appointed as the president of the same association since 30th March 2023. He is well known for his social contribution and technological development of the field of bio-safety in Republic of Korea.
